Terms of Use

  1. Acceptance of Terms
    By accessing or using the website https://ciu.ac.bd (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and any posted modifications. If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the Site.

    The Site is owned and operated by Chittagong Independent University (“CIU,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and provides information about CIU, academic programs, admissions, news, resources, and related services. CIU may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Site at any time.

    Access to the Site is available to all visitors subject to these Terms. Certain areas or services may require registration or creation of an account; you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to maintain and promptly update that information.     • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, other accounts, or CIU systems.

You may view, download, or print materials for personal, non-commercial use only, provided you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices. Any other use requires CIU’s prior written permission.

    If you submit content to the Site (comments, feedback, application materials, or other materials), you grant CIU a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content for any purpose. CIU’s total aggregate liability for direct damages arising from or related to the Site will not exceed the amount you paid (if any) to access the Site in the 12 months preceding the claim, or, if none, a nominal amount.

    CIU’s collection and use of personal information are governed by the Site’s Privacy Policy. By using the Site you consent to CIU’s collection and use of your information as described in that policy.

    CIU uses commercially reasonable measures to protect personal information, but cannot guarantee absolute security. CIU reserves the right to retain or delete user data as required by law or university policy.

    These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Chattogram (Chittagong), Bangladesh, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

    If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

  13. Entire Agreement
    These Terms, together with any documents expressly incorporated by reference (including the Privacy Policy), constitute the entire agreement between you and CIU regarding the Site and supersede all prior agreements.
