CIU Celebrates Academic Excellence! Chittagong Independent University (CIU) organized the Academic Excellence Award Ceremony Spring 2026 on 6 August 2026 at the University Auditorium to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of its students. The event was graced by Dr. Mohammad Ayub Islam, Professor, University of Chittagong and former member, University Grands Commissions (UGC) as the Chief Guest and Professor Dr. M. M. Nurul Absar, hon’ble Vice Chancellor as the Session Chair. Distinguished guests included Prof. Dr. Syed Manzur Quader, Dean, CIU Business School (CIUBS); Prof. Dr. Aseef Iqbal, Dean, School of Science & Engineering (SSE), Professor Dr. Khaled Bin Chowdhury, Dean, School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, Ms. Ramisa Jahan, Assistant Dean-in charge, School of Law and Dr. Rubell Sen Goopta, Associate Professor, School of Science & Engineering (SSE) & Convener, Academic Excellence Award Ceremony Committee who shared their inspiring words towards the students. Among others Mr. Li Shikhou, Chinese Instructor of CIU, Faculty Members, administrative heads, and Mr. Sarker Kamrul Mamun, Controller of Examinations were also present. Conducted by Ms. Anjuman Banu Lima, Registrar of the University, the ceremony honored 151 students from the CIU Business School, School of Science & Engineering, School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, and School of Law under five categories: Dean’s List, Dean’s Merit List, Dean’s Honor List, Vice Chancellor’s List, and Vice Chancellor’s Honor List. For the first time, students from CIU’s graduate programs were also recognized for their outstanding academic achievements. In the ceremony three of the awardees shared their insights with the audience. Every name on the achievers’ list tells a story of hard work and determination. Every semester, CIU proudly celebrates these accomplishments and looks forward to witnessing many more success stories in the days ahead.
