CIU-Youngone Academic Excellence Scholarship Recipients Visit South Korea
A team of Youngone–CIU Academic Excellence Scholarship recipients recently visited South Korea as part of an international academic and industry exposure program. The delegation was led by Dr. Aseef Iqbal, Professor and Dean, School of Science and Engineering, and Dr. Emon Kalyan Chowdhury, Professor, CIU Business School. During the visit, the team explored leading corporate and innovation-driven institutions, including Youngone Corporation, LG Innovation Strategy Center, and The North Face offices in Seoul. The visit provided students with practical exposure to global business practices, technological innovation, corporate strategy, and international brand operations. The delegation also visited renowned academic and research institutions, including Seoul National University, Sookmyung Women’s University, Yonsei University, and Severance Hospital. While the students gained valuable exposure to international academic environments and future higher education opportunities, the visit also created meaningful avenues for CIU and its faculty members to explore research collaboration, student and faculty exchange, and broader institutional partnerships. The visit was fully funded by Youngone Corporation under the Youngone–CIU Academic Excellence Scholarship Program, established following the MoU signed between Youngone Corporation and Chittagong Independent University (CIU) on February 5, 2025. Earlier this year, a group of students from Sookmyung Women’s University also visited CIU, further reflecting the growing academic and cultural connection between CIU and South Korea. This visit marks another important milestone in CIU’s ongoing efforts to promote global learning, industry engagement, academic collaboration, and future-ready education for its students and faculty members.
