CIU Students Present Research Papers at Prestigious International Conference RAAICON 2026
Two students of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Chittagong Independent University (CIU), have presented their research papers at the 2026 5th International Conference on Robotics, Automation, Artificial-Intelligence, and Internet-of-Things (RAAICON 2026), held at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), Jashore, Bangladesh. The research papers were presented under the supervision of Dr. Rubell Sen Goopta, Associate Professor and Head, Department of EEE, CIU. The participating students were Md. Musfiqur Rahman Akib (CSE) and Abdullah Al Nayem (EEE), who presented their research findings on advanced computational and artificial-intelligence-assisted techniques for Selective Harmonic Elimination (SHE) in multilevel inverter systems. The two papers presented at the conference are: 1. “Continuation-Accelerated Multi-Start Newton Solution of Selective Harmonic Elimination for a Seven-Level Inverter” Authors: Rubell Sen Goopta, Md. Musfiqur Rahman Akib, Abdullah Al Nayem 2. “A Constraint-Aware Neural Warm-Start with Newton Refinement for Selective Harmonic Elimination PWM: A Reproducible Study on the Three-Angle Fifth-Seventh Elimination Problem” Authors: Rubell Sen Goopta, Md. Musfiqur Rahman Akib, Abdullah Al Nayem The studies explore computationally efficient and intelligent approaches to solving Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse-Width Modulation (SHE-PWM) problems, with particular emphasis on improving numerical solution processes and incorporating artificial intelligence techniques into power electronic converter control. The participation of the CIU students in RAAICON 2026 reflects the university’s growing emphasis on research, innovation, artificial intelligence, power electronics, and emerging engineering technologies. Chittagong Independent University (CIU) congratulates Md. Musfiqur Rahman Akib, Abdullah Al Nayem, and Dr. Rubell Sen Goopta on this academic achievement and wishes them continued success in their research and professional endeavors.
