CIU Hosts Seminar on the Future of Careers and Technology Chittagong Independent University (CIU) successfully hosted a seminar titled “The Rise of Technocracy: Global Career Development & Career Guidance for the Future” on Thursday, 1st October 2026, at the CIU Auditorium. The seminar was jointly organized by the School of Science & Engineering (SSE), CIU, and the IT Business Incubator, CUET. The seminar focused on the changing landscape of the global job market and how students can prepare themselves for the future. Key topics included Artificial Intelligence, emerging career opportunities, digital transformation, future-ready skills, career planning, leadership, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. The session featured insightful discussions by Professor Dr. Sharif Uddin Ahmed Rana, President, World Talent Economy Forum and CEO, Innovation Lab USA; Professor Dr. M. Moshiul Hoque, Professor, Department of CSE, CUET and Director, IT Business Incubator, CUET; and Md. Mosharraf Hossain, CEO, Diligite Ltd. and Trainer & Mentor, EDGE IICT, CUET-DST. Professor Dr. M. Moshiul Hoque also presented an overview of the facilities, services, and activities of the IT Business Incubator, CUET, highlighting its role in supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, technology-based initiatives, and career development opportunities for students and young professionals. The program was graced by Professor Dr. M. M. Nurul Absar, Vice Chancellor, CIU, as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Aseef Iqbal, Dean, School of Science & Engineering, chaired the session, while the Advisor, SSE, attended as the Special Guest. The program was anchored by Mr. Anirban Barua, Lecturer, SSE, CIU, who conducted the session and facilitated the proceedings. Faculty members from the School of Science & Engineering (SSE) and the CIU Business School attended the seminar. Students from different schools also participated in the engaging and interactive session and benefited from the discussions and insights shared by the speakers. The seminar provided students with valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges of the future workplace, encouraging them to develop the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. The event served as a meaningful initiative towards preparing CIU students for future careers in an increasingly technology-driven and evolving global environment.
