CIU Vice Chancellor Among Bangladesh Delegates to Chinese Bridge 2026
Chittagong Independent University (CIU) proudly celebrates the participation of its Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. M M Nurul Absar, in the prestigious “2026 Chinese Bridge” Bangladeshi Educator Delegation to China, hosted by Yunnan University. Professor Dr. Nurul Absar is part of a distinguished nine-member delegation of Bangladeshi academic leaders and education policymakers participating in the five-day program aimed at strengthening academic cooperation, fostering international partnerships, and promoting educational exchange between Bangladesh and China. The Bangladesh delegation comprises University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed; University of Dhaka Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam; North South University Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury; Independent University, Bangladesh Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Tamim; Chittagong Independent University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M M Nurul Absar; University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shamsad Mortuza; Thakurgaon University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Israfil; International Mother Language Institute Director Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashaduzzaman; and Dhaka Cantonment Girls’ Public School and College Principal Colonel Md. Mamun Azad Salehin. The delegation participated in the Launch Ceremony of the 2026 “Chinese Bridge” Bangladeshi Educator Delegation to China and the Round-table Forum on the Localized Development of Chinese Education in Bangladesh, where academic leaders and education policymakers from Bangladesh and China exchanged views on higher education development, language education, academic cooperation, and opportunities for strengthening educational ties between the two countries. The Chinese Bridge Program serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, strengthening institutional partnerships, and exploring new avenues for educational development and global engagement between Bangladesh and China. CIU’s participation in this distinguished international forum reflects the university’s continued commitment to expanding global connections, advancing academic excellence, fostering cross-border collaboration, and creating transformative opportunities for its students and faculty members. It is worth mentioning that CIU proudly hosts the Confucius Institute Chinese Language Teaching Site, the only such teaching site outside Dhaka, serving as a gateway to Chinese language, culture, and global opportunities for students in Chattogram.
